DARTFORD UPDATE - 5 MORE WEEKS!

The clock is really ticking now as we move into June. The Bank Holiday weekend with plentiful sunshine was a real challenge for all our teams, no getting away from that. Thank you for bearing with us while we coped with an extremely busy weekend working across two sites.

Our freezer teams at Crossways are pretty much up to full speed and the extra space has begun to take the pressure off relying on just in time deliveries from many suppliers. The first full trucks of chips from our friends at Koffmann are tucked away in our new shuttle racking and the benefit of more capacity will become clear quickly.

Our fresh produce teams are in their new home too, again this week we’ve seen bigger and more direct deliveries coming in and the quality and range of our offer is improving all the time. While our new teams at Crossways adjust to their new surroundings, we also have to recognise the huge effort of all our teams at Tonbridge while they keep us on course through what is a serious undertaking in moving while operating.

We are getting on top of things and looking forward to a very bright future here. There’s a genuine sense of pride in introducing the new building to suppliers and customers (and the coffee is still great) and we can’t wait to finish what we’ve started!
