Night Warehouse Team Leader

We are looking to appoint a Night Warehouse Team Leader who will play a key role in working alongside our warehouse supervisors and managers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the night operation. You will be able to motivate your colleagues, leading and working as part of the team who are picking orders and loading them on to the allocated vehicles.

It's an exciting opportunity for progression, joining the night warehouse leadership team at a time the Company is experiencing huge expansion. You will need to have a positive approach in leading the team and able to work under pressure, to strict timescales, leading and supporting the team to meet targets and objectives - all whilst ensuring the processes are followed and efficiency is maximised. Your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead the night warehouse operatives to deliver in line with expectations.
• Motivate and engage with colleagues on best practice.
• Manage and delegate duties and responsibilities.
• Playing an active role in helping to train and support new employees.
• Work collaboratively with the entire warehouse team to maintain current stock levels and minimise damages and wastage.
• Maintain processes e.g. rotating stock to minimise waste.
• Preparing and processing food items using a handheld scanner - sorting by route and working as a team to ensure workloads are completed on time.
• Chiller and freezer picking and loading in a busy warehouse.
• Quality checking products before they are dispatched.
• Moving stock around, stacking shelves and general warehouse duties.

This is a hands-on role; you must be willing and able to get involved with all aspects of warehouse duties in addition to supporting the team. You will need to:

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels, understanding how you communicate impacts the performance of others. 
• Lead and supervise a team.
• Motivate the team to deliver an exceptional service and meet targets.
• Delegate duties as appropriate and monitor productivity.
• Able to work independently, and use initiative.
• Work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Have a flexible approach to meet business needs.

Key Details

Hours: 8 hours per shift, 238 shifts per year working 10pm - 6.30am

Location: Crossways, Dartford

Reporting/Responsible to: Night Warehouse Supervisor, Night Warehouse Manager, Night Operations Manager

Salary: £33,280
