The first ‘Tiptree’ conserves were made in 1885 on the Tiptree estate and are still made to this day. Fruit crops include strawberries, mulberries and damsons to name but a few. 

Red currants are brought to the boil and simmered gently. The juice and fruit is then transferred to the fruit press where it is squeezed slowly to extract the maximum amount of juice from the fruit. This distinctive jelly is just perfect to accompany roast lamb, and also makes a delicious addition to all gravies.
