Driver Assessor (INTERNAL APPLICATIONS ONLY)

We are looking to appoint four Driver Assessors within the Transport team who will carry out the usual duties of a multi-drop delivery driver but in addition will have the formal responsibility of training new and existing members of staff including:

• Carrying out pre-employment driving assessments on all new recruits to ensure capability and competence, including licence and eyesight checks.
• Assist with new driver inductions.
• Conducting 4, 8 and 12 week probation assessments in collaboration with the transport supervisor team.
• Monitor driver performance in relation to daily vehicle checks and required standards, assist with gate checks and yard safety.
• Annual assessments to measure ongoing standards and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Utilise tracking software to identify training needs and select drivers for development.
• Review customer satisfaction and train drivers on expected delivery standards, liaise with sales support to identify training needs.
• Buddy up with new drivers to train on routes.

This is an excellent opportunity for development and career progression with training provided in the following areas:

• Understanding of Tacho Legislation.

To be successful in this role you will also require:

• Valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Demonstrable understanding of company processes and ability to train at classroom level.
• Excellent understanding of relevant road laws.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Safe driving record.
• Good customer history.

Salary - £23,622 per annum plus up to 20% bonus
